Our goal is to help patients set their own goals, achieve them in the shortest time possible, and maintain this weight for life.

The 5 Point Plan:

1. Comprehensive Medical History

We want to hear about your specific situation! What were your past attempts at weight loss? What hasn’t worked and what has? We then need to explore your “medical history,” specifically, any medications, hormonal symptoms, menstrual abnormalities, and dietary patterns that may contribute to unwanted weight gain. A combination of these factors will combine to help us customize a weight loss plan that is guaranteed to help you lose weight and keep it off.

2. Customized Diet Plan

We can create a personalized diet plan tailored to your needs. The options are numerous, but the key is to pick a diet that you can stick with for the long term and see great results.

3. Pharmaceutical Support

We may recommend selected pharmaceutical products like GLP-1 drugs (Ozempic, Mounjaro, and others), Contrave, or Phentermine. Basically, such agents act as “training wheels” to re-format dietary and other patterns in your day-to-day life. Pharmaceutical products can also jump start your weight loss journey and help you see results faster. The key, however, is to find a path that does NOT include long-term usage of these pharmaceuticals. Also, we will make sure that any pharmaceutical agents chosen will fit within your personal budget. Some of them may even be covered by your health insurance plan!

4. Accountability Plan

An accountability partner, such as a medical professional or supportive friend (i.e. not a spouse!) is essential for accomplishing long term weight loss. Having a “coach” will help you stay motivated and on track to achieving your weight loss goals.

5. Comprehensive Gynecological Plan

Often women in their 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s have a strong hormonal component that in some cases may keep them from losing weight and keeping it off. One part of this component can be related to the menstrual cycle. Battling cycle related fatigue, bloating, food cravings, and “mood” definitely makes it a lot more difficult to consistently stick with your personalized health plan. Likewise, declining output from the ovaries during the “perimenopause” time-frame can also significantly impact a woman’s weight and “body shape”. It's obvious that these GYN factors play an important role in weight loss, and The Ashford Center understands how to consider these factors!!!
